Prego women sometimes got difficulty to sleep at nite, so do i. So I usually listening to my baby lullabies to fall asleep. It is really peaceful, sweet & tender...
While i'm resting tonite, i'm listening to another baby lullabies Songs of Love & Blessing from a Mother's Heart "I love You" CD. There are 20 songs in this CD. I bought this CD together with several others CDs last month from ABC Bookstore during the Camp Meeting in Hope, BC.
[Hubby said just buy whatever u want...so i just picked lots of CDs, it was on sale too :D]
Note what the producer says at the CD:
"Dear Mother,
You're about to give your baby a love letter - written straight from your heart!
Nurturing the tender young life in your care means more than soft blankets and warm hugs. Baby need spiritual nurturing, too. They need to know God's unconditional love, to hear God's affirmation - through Mommy's affirmation; to feel God's encouragement - through Mommy's encouragement...."
I can hardly wait to see my baby :D I know my sleeptime will be less when my bundle of joy arrived later...i'm getting ready for that! May God continues to help me fulfill the high calling role that He has given to me and to treasure those once-in-a-lifetime moments that can slip away all too swiftly...
oooo..now i feel sleepy...10.53pm, 29th August 2008...mmm Dara's birthday! hope she did check out my 'gifts' to her on Facebook ;)

new hair cut..
(My photo taken on Aug 13, 2008)
Have u ever heard about 'baby brain syndrome'? I heard about this recently & maybe just went thru it.
Some women when they're pregnant thinks that they're losing their own mind. Dont get me wrong; i just says that prego women usually have difficulty to concentrate. Sometime thinking to just want to 'change' - it can be changing something new & this usually related to personality, appearance & attitude.
Last few weeks, as i was struggling with my new appearance dissatisfaction - i know i've been thinking about this already...yeah, nothing i can do with my boobs & tummy for now til next few months but yes, i got my long hair hehehe...
So...i just got my hair cut last week Thursday...at 1st i want to cut it really short but the hairstylist advised not to. She said that i'm going thru a baby brain syndrome where u just wanna 'change'. as it will be only temporarily, to avoid any bigger disappointment later, just advised me to cut little bit which i agreed.
Below is my latest photo taken on Monday 25 Aug 2008:
After i got my hair cut, i feel much better about my appearance eventhough it seem like my hairstyle before is better than now...cheh...
Well, no matter what i still prefer my hair style cutted by a stylist in KL. I think she cut better that anybody else, yet. See my hairstyle in early May 2008 (almost 2 months after i got my haircut done in Midvalley KL in March 2008):
oh maybe, i just need another rebonding hehehe...
pekasam ikan a.k.a 'rotten fish' hehehe
I bought a frozen big tilapia from T&T Supermarket weeks before. Last week, i just dont know what to do with that big fish: not interested to cook it - fed up to eat 'not-so-fresh' fish, so i decided to make 'pekasam ikan' hehehe
When we live somewhere very far from our 'original' hometown, believe me that you'll become very creative n innovative & suddenly know how to do stuff that u don't even bother to know 'how to' before. that's what happens to me :D
when i was still in Malaysia, i usually got my ikan pekasam supplied from my Kedah'an' friend, Nisa. That's how i learned how to cook & eat pekasam, but to make - never bother before. We do have similar stuff in Sabah, which we called 'gagau' or .... cheh!!! now i forgot what the other name for it. Fried it with sliced red onion plus some hot chilli, so yummy hingga lalat2 pun turut tertarik hahaha.
Last week, i made my own pekasam ikan for the 3rd time. i made this twice before at our previous home. since it turned out really good, so i have no hesitation to make it again plus it is very much less annoying as no flies a.k.a lalat can come into my house here.
Where did i found the 'cara2 membuat pekasam'? easy, just google it. there are several ways or tips to make good pekasam. i studied & use my imagination to get the 'best way' to do it & reached the conclusion to follow the basic tips & use 'secret recipe' to adjust the taste. Want more 'asam', put asam keping lah together with the fermented fish.
I removed the fish head, cleaned the fish & cut into smaller portions, rubbed with salt, leave it 1 nite & then, fried 'beras pulut' without oil, blended it & pour into the fish. I put my pekasam ikan inside the tupperware, leave it on the counter in the kitchen for 2 days before refrigerate it. Hubby dont eat fish, so I worried (just in case) he will throw away my 'sitting on the counter fish', so i told him what was it.
Guess what my hubby said?? He said 'not only DEAD fish, but ROTTEN fish' huahahaha
yup!! alang2 makan ikan x segar, biar bagi ikan tu betul2 buruk cara yg baik, baru dimakan - lagi sodap!!!

Banff Trip Photos
Me, hubby & group of our Chinese engineer friends with their family respectively did this Banff trip around end of February this year. It was still Winter time, nearly Spring.
I wasn't able to upload these beautiful photos in Friendster blog due to some technical requirements. Hence, i will upload these photos in my blog here :)
One of the stops that we made was somewhere at the frozen lake in Banff National Park. All our Chinese friends (except Prof. Lisa & her son Jim) went down to walk on the frozen lake, while me, hubby, Prof. Lisa & Jim stayed above the hilly shore, looking down at the lake. While watching our friends to adventure the frozen lake, i played with my Fujifilm camera & snapped several shots of our friends:
(Liang Lin & wife, Ellen - i don't know what are they looking at as I was standing up the hill above them, about 30m away. I just zoomed in & snapped this photo)
(Kevin & wife, Holly - hehehe it was funny to watch what they were doing on that frozen lake. They were about 120m away from me)
This photo was taken at a different location but still inside the Banff National Park area:
(Michael, wife Grace & son Eric were talking with those strangers as they were trying to borrow a lighter - they were about 160m away from us)
We also stopped at another frozen lake inside the Canadian Rocky Mountains National Park in Banff. This photo below taken on that lake while Holly was playing with the snow:
and i took the following photo as it was funny to see :D
The lake is really big & huge but (i wonder) why are these friends were walking at the same 1 line especially those behind my hubby?? hehehe it's reminds me that malay sentences "itik gembo2, jalan kedek2..." huahaha
i bet my hubby didn't realized that as he was really busy looking at his Blackberry phone & GPS while 'leading' the way...
cherry blossom in BC
remember at my 1 of my Friendster blog on how i missed the cherry blossoms season during my Japan trip in April 2007?
turned out that i can see this 'cherry blossom' stuff happening in BC once i got home the same month LOL... how i didn't even know what was happening around me for 1st 2 years since i moved to Canada.
This year April, i managed to snap photos of white cherries blossoms in Surrey, BC - about 45 mins drive from home. It was quite late afternoon, we're looking for a geocache & while searching, i grab my camera for these photos:
an expensive cat???
What do you think when u see this cat?
A friend of mine says this must be an expensive cat!
When i asked her 'why", she explained that this cat look so special (look at the face, the fur divided right at the centre into 2 colors, black & white) & the cat look so healthy.
At 1st i wanted to laugh, but then i think that what she said are true. I didn't buy this cat from somebody else. She came FOC but to raise her is quite cosy as compare to any domestic cats that not belongs to my family in Kota Marudu ;D
Don't mind about the background of the picture ;) I took this picture early in the morning during my last trip to Sabah (March 2008). while i was still sleping, this cat named "Sampapas" as usual came on the bed to wake me up. Why? Because that's what she usually do. The drawer was removed at the cupboard to accomodate Sampapas 2 new babies that time.
Sampapas was born at the same year i started practising as an advocate & solicitor in Kota Marudu. At cat's age, she is in her 40's while in human age, she is only 6 yrs old. But cat's lifespan is only up to 20 yrs if we really take care of them.
Beside Sampapas, i still have few more cats in KM & they are Budding (only a year younger than Sampapas & they are sisters), Shrek (Budding's grandson hehehe), Durong & Guning (Sampapas's a year old kids) and 2 more new kittens belong to Sampapas, i think only a month or 2 @ human age.
Why these cats are "expensive"? Because
1. they only eat selected cat food i.e. dry cat food from an animal clinic in KK (1 large bag - RM200), selected fish with special cooking i.e. no 'rebus' or 'kukus', must be 'fried fish' or BBQ fish mixed with very little rice.
2. Every week give them antibiotic ( you know how this kucing kampung usually do - too much activities outside the house) and special stuff to remove ball hairs etc. Others medicine also on standby stock basis at home.
3. These cats even have an expensive special tree house inside the house for them to play and an electric stream for their drinking water ...
4. Everytime i come home or when i'm away, if something 'wrong' with any of the cats like 'kagalon' - it happens sometime due to the small kutu living inside the cat's ear - must bring this cat to any klinik haiwan.
5. and....most of the cats have been spayed!!! Cat's spay in KK usually cost about $100 for female and $80 for male inclusive of 1 shot of antibiotic & dewormed.
6. Each of the cats got special 'gelang leher' to kill kutu2 & thicks
7. I even bring back 'cat toys" from North Americe for these cats as ole2 & their favorite is the fake hanging rat with bell.
My siblings always refer these cats as "kucing2 kesayangan ko...."
I miss my cats, can hardly wait to see them again sometime this year..hopefully...

1st visit with a new family doctor
Today 25th August 2008, me & hubby went to see a new family doctor for me & kid(s) in the future.
Hubby will stay with his doctor, while me & kid(s) will be seeing this new doctor. Her name is Dr. Erin Lynch, a young & energetic female doctor @ Magnolia Clinic in Chilliwack.
Nowaday, it is really hard to find a family doctor in BC. For couple of months, i've had asked around in Chilliwack to find any female doctor but all of them doesn't accept new patient. I'm lucky & blessed because a close friend of mine, Crystal had helped me to get her Dr. Lynch as my new family doctor.
As me & hubby were standing to arrange something with the receptionist, a lady came in. I overheard she mentioned that she is a newcomer from Alberta, just move in to Chilliwack & now looking for a new doctor. But another receptionist told her that the doctors in that clinic aren't taking in any new patient!
Against all odd, after i met my midwife, after i got Dr Lynch, i finally got an appointment with 1 of baby specialist in Chilliwack whom i wished & supposed to meet an early stage of my pregnancy. Due to the regulation, as i have decided to see the midwife and now i has my own family doctor, i have to cancel the appointment with the specialist.
From now on, my midwife Kim Campbell will be taking care of my pregnancy while Dr. Lynch willl still be around for my general medical care.
Hush..the same thing could happens to me if my friend didn't help me to get in the boat of Dr. Lynch's office. I'm so grateful!!!

there is sunshine..
oh yes!! i woke up this morning, o what a wonderful day!! today was sunny day with temperature 23 degree.
I did some household shopping today @ Shopper Drugsmart in Sardis area. Then went to the RBC Bank to get some Olympic lucky loonies & few rolls of 25 cents. Then went home to cook for lunch & brought hubby's meal to his office. I stayed for an hour at hubby's office, working on our Winnipeg trip plan this November til Grace called me for a favour.
Around 4.30 pm, I drove Grace & Eric to Chilliwack Prairie Central to look if we can pick yourself blueberries. Unfortunately, due to the several days raining before, we were unable to do so as the blueberries were splitting, wet & mushy.
Before sunset, i've done our month of July accounting. I enjoy doing this stuff sometime ;D

cold weather in summer season
Now i'm wondering whether the Fall is coming early???
It is still Summer time but the weather is showing like a Fall time. Saturday Aug 16, was the latest hot day in Summer (it was 32 degree) and since Sunday, the days were getting colder and wet, the heaven are 'crying' daily.
Since the last 2 days, it is really getting cold. This morning, hubby was commenting about the wheather and had asked me to pull out the comforter from the closet. I'm not willing to run the heater yet, as the Terasen bill for running the heather is really expensive.
i remember last Fall & Winter time, we've spent almost $2000 to run the heather. Well, part of it coz we have to run the heater earlier to expedite the drying of the dry wall & new paints during renovation.
Fall is officially set in middle of September, but yea, we begins to feel like Fall now. However, the nature leaves haven't show any signs for Fall yet. The trees still very deeply dark green colors, and my tomatoes are just started to flower now.
If the Fall weather set in very early, i can imagine my pepper, tomatoes & eggplant wont survive very long then. The tomato will be easily moved back inside the sunroom, but the peppers & eggplant??? I just transplanted those in the garden just 3 weeks ago...
Hopefully the weather will be getting better next week. I wish....
